After 16 years as Director of Library Services at Columbia Gorge Community College, Rosemary Ross retired on November 30. When she began, library services were provide through The Dalles-Wasco Public Library, and she took on the challenge of developing the on campus library. More recently she oversaw its remodeling into an information commons and led the implementation of library services at the new Hood River – Indian Creek Campus. With foresight and dedication, Rosemary built the library into the dynamic place it is now.
In recognition of her years of service and substantial contributions to the development of the library, the CGCC Library will be named in her honor.
Despite her official retirement, Rosemary is still hard at work. Earlier this year she managed the Library’s migration to the Sage Library System, and she is now getting the library ready to move to the open source Evergreen ILS that Sage is implementing. She will work part-time on this and other projects, and welcomes people to get in touch with her (firstname.lastname@example.org, 541-506-6080).
