Scholarship Description
About: ACRL-OR is proud to sponsor scholarships to support the work of Oregon academic library employees. Up to $2,000 is available per year, with individual award amounts determined by board vote. Applications will be reviewed at three points during the academic year or until funds are depleted.
Uses: The ACRL-OR Scholarship may be used for the following:
- Conference attendance (included ACRL-OR/WA Joint Conference)
- Workshops
- Courses
- Seminars
- Other learning opportunities (including eLearning)
- Creation of programming, such as a workshop, conference, or pre-conference
- Collaborative research projects
- Other academic library-related pursuits
- Something we haven’t listed!
Eligibility: All Oregon academic library employees are eligible to apply. For collaborative projects, at least one applicant needs to work at an Oregon library. Preference will be given to ACRL-OR members in good standing. Preference will also be given to applicants who have not previously received this award. Applications should demonstrate meaningful connection to their library responsibilities, information literacy, or advocacy for libraries in Oregon.
Requirements: Completed online application, as well as a follow up report highlighting any outcomes. Fall and Winter Term applications are now closed. If funding is still available, the next round of applications will be opened during the Spring Term.
How to apply: Calls for applications will be posted at three points throughout the year based on availability of funds. The latest information about scholarship deadlines will be posted to the ACRL-OR News page.
Evaluation: Nominations will be evaluated based on the rubric available here.
