Scholarships Available to Attend the 2024 ACRL Oregon and Washington Joint Fall Conference on October 25th.
ACRL-OR awards two scholarships annually to help attend the 2024 ACRL Oregon and Washington Joint Fall Conference. This year, the Oregon chapter is hosting the 1-day conference on October 25 at Reed College in Portland. Apply now!
The scholarship covers the registration fee (in person or virtual) and lodging for the conference.
This scholarship is designed for those who live and/or work in Oregon and meet at least one of the criteria below:
- First-time attendee of the joint conference.
- ACRL-OR member.
- MLIS student in an ALA-accredited program who lives in Oregon.
- Paraprofessional employee in an Oregon academic library.
- Part-time or temporary employee in an Oregon academic library.
- Applicant from diverse cultural/ethnic background and/or historically marginalized group
- Applicant employed at institution or in position serving under-represented groups
- Applicants employed at community or technical college or applicant employed at smaller or rural institutions with limited funding
A point system will be used to rank applicant eligibility based on the criteria above. In addition, application essays will be evaluated for:
- Financial need.
- Interest in the conference theme/program.
- Plans to apply knowledge gained at the conference.
Deadline:
The deadline for the 2024 Fall Conference Scholarship applications will be Friday, September 20. Applicants will be notified shortly after the application period closes. Registration for the ACRL Oregon and Washington Joint Fall Conference is open until September 30th.
