Obama’s Open Government Directive

Yesterday President Obama announced an Open Government Directive (pdf).

The 4 steps agencies are mandated to take are as follows:

  1. Publish Government Information Online
  2. Improve the Quality of Government Information
  3. Create and Institutionalize a Culture of Open Government
  4. Create an Enabling Policy Framework for Open Government

This means that we will soon we’ll be helping patrons find data sets, navigate new web sites created by federal agencies dedicated to open government, and so much more!
